Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email, phone (optional), country, city and time zone.
• Career details you give us: CVs, cover letters, roles you want, skills, experience, saved answers and job hunt settings.
• Activity: job matches, application packs and their status, practice test answers, voice interview transcripts, and (only if you tick the box) a recording of your own answers.
• Payments: plan, amounts and status. Card details are handled by Paystack; we never see or store your full card number.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and logs we need to keep the service secure and working.

Why we use it

• To provide the service you ask for: building and tailoring CVs, matching jobs, preparing application packs and running interview practice (contract).
• To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse and enforce plan limits (legitimate interests).
• To send emails you asked for: job matches, ready-to-apply notices, reminders and account notices. Product news only if you opt in (consent), and you can switch any of them off.
• To meet legal and tax obligations.

Our AI only uses the facts you provide. It never invents experience, employers, qualifications or results for your CV.

Who processes your data for us

We use trusted providers to run JobberNest. They process data only on our instructions:

• Hosting and database: Render, Supabase.
• AI providers (to write and check your documents and run interview practice): OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI. Your content is sent only for the task you ask for.
• Voice interviews: OpenAI (Realtime), Deepgram and ElevenLabs (backup engine).
• Email: Resend. Payments: Paystack. Background jobs and caching: Inngest, Upstash.
• Job listings: job boards and their APIs, and Firecrawl for public careers pages. We send only search terms, never your CV.
• Product analytics: PostHog, without advertising cookies.

Some providers are outside Nigeria. Where data leaves Nigeria or the UK/EU, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual safeguards.

What we never do

• We never sell your data or share it for advertising.
• We never send applications or emails from your own mailbox, and never submit applications on your behalf.

How long we keep it

While your account is open. When you delete your account (Settings → Your data), we delete your CVs, letters, applications, interview reports and files straight away. Recordings of interview answers are deleted after a set number of days. We keep payment records as long as tax law requires, and anonymised usage figures (no name or email) for cost reporting.

Your rights

You can access, correct, download and delete your data, object to some uses, and withdraw consent at any time. Download and delete are in Settings; for anything else, email us. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (or your local regulator).

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted and logged, and staff accounts use two-step sign-in. Files are stored privately and shared only through short-lived links.

Children

JobberNest is for people aged 16 and over.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
