Sales CV example

By the JobberNest team · Reviewed 3 November 2026

Sales managers read a CV the way they read a sales report: what was the target, what did you deliver, and how. If your CV doesn't show numbers, they assume you didn't hit them.

Show your territory or customer type, your target, and the percentage you achieved. Then add one or two lines about how you did it, because that's what they will ask about at interview.

Tips for a stronger sales CV

  1. 1

    Percentages travel well

₦ figures change meaning with inflation and company size. "112% of target" means the same to every sales manager.

  2. 2

    Explain one win

Pick your best result and say how you got it. It gives the interviewer an easy first question, and you'll have the answer ready.

  3. 3

    Don't hide a bad year

If you missed target, show the trend or the context honestly at interview. Don't invent numbers; managers check references.

Questions people ask

What if I don't know my exact target figures?

Ask your manager or check old performance reviews. If you can't, use honest approximations ("about 110% of target") you can explain.

Should I include commission earned?

No. Keep it to targets, revenue and customers. Pay comes up at offer stage.
